Solo or agency
Who should you trust with compliance? Sometimes not us.
A well-equipped independent and an agency do not serve the same situations. Rather than a sales pitch, here are the two lists, starting with the one that does not suit us.
Honesty first
Three cases where you should not pick us
- Many sites, all at once. Fifteen sites from a portfolio of brands to audit in the same quarter is teamwork: several auditors in parallel, a dedicated coordinator. An independent who takes on that volume is lying to you about the deadlines. We turn that kind of assignment down, and we tell you before the quote, not after.
- A presence in your offices. We work remotely, from Porto, by video call and in writing: that is what makes our prices and our speed possible. If your organization needs workshops on site every week or a provider embedded on your premises, you need a local firm. That is not us.
- A closed panel, no joint bidding. Some calls for tender only admit approved providers, with no joint bidding possible. If your purchasing process cannot accommodate a European independent, even through a partner, we cannot compete, and we will not try to work around your rules to get in.
If one of those three cases is yours, go find an agency, and hold it to what we document on our method page: the measured limits of automated testing, a real manual pass, and zero fear marketing. Ten minutes will tell you who you are dealing with.
The rest of the time
Why a well-equipped solo wins on a site that matters to you
- Speed. No six-person kickoff meeting, no handover from the salesperson who charmed you to the team that inherits the file. You write, and the person who answers within 24 business hours is the one who will do the work. A quick diagnostic goes out in a week.
- Price. You pay the auditor, not the pyramid above him: no sales department, no project management layer, no rent on a Paris office floor. That is what makes a serious diagnostic at €1,500 excl. VAT possible, and a path audit from €4,500 excl. VAT, prices posted in public.
- The one who audits is the one who fixes. In many agencies, the audit and the fix are two teams, sometimes two companies, connected by tickets. Here, the person who finds the defect is the one who writes the fix into your theme: nothing is lost on the way, and nobody can pass the blame.
- Solo does not mean improvised. Behind the single contact there is a toolchain: two analysis engines, scripted authenticated flows, a test bench that measures what the toolchain catches, an acceptance run replayed before every delivery. A well-equipped independent covers today what took a team yesterday; the human is kept for the judgment calls, not for repetitive work.
At a glance
Head to head, no cheating
Scroll the table to the right.
| Criterion | EXPawa | Agency |
|---|---|---|
| People you deal with | One, from quote to fix | Salesperson, project manager, team |
| Who audits, who fixes | The same person | Often two teams connected by tickets |
| Price | Posted in public, from €1,500 excl. VAT | By quote, with a structure to fund |
| Getting started | Answer within 24 business hours | Depending on the teams’ workload |
| Fifteen sites in parallel | No, and we say so | Yes, that is their turf |
| A presence in your offices | No, remote by choice | Possible, depending on the firm |
“And what if something happens to you?”
The continuity plan, in one line
All the work lives in a documented repository that belongs to you: if we disappear tomorrow, any provider picks it up exactly where it stopped, without us.
It is the question everyone asks an independent, and it is a fair one. Our answer does not rest on a promise of good health: it rests on the shape of what we hand over. Dated reports, versioned fixes, written decisions; no knowledge that exists only in someone’s head.
The cheapest test: a free exposure report
Judge on the evidence rather than on this page: ask for the exposure report on your own site, and compare it with what you were sold elsewhere.
